I wanted to set up a styled engagement session for myself and two other local vendors to show off our work. I had no idea it would turn into the real thing!
I contacted Lisa Fairfield from LDFloral Design and Lisa James from Heavenly Helpings Baked Goods & Catering. We started planning right away. We got a location, we got a pickup truck, Lisa J started planning the food, and Lisa F started planning floral design. I started looking for models. Then, Lisa F came up with an idea. Let's use a real couple. Her son and his girlfriend would be perfect!
Shortly after asking Emily and Nick to model for us, Nick decided it was time to do this for real! He asked her parents' permission, he bought a ring, and he waited for the big day.
Emily knew they were modeling an engagement session. I gave her a cheap ring from WalMart to wear for the styled photos. Nick decided he wanted to get throuugh the session, then ask her for real. Here are some photos from the session:
Who doesn't love some sweet tea made on the window sill? Lisa J had a pitcher ready to go!
Our first set was a blanket picnic in a field. The apple tree made a beautiful backdrop!
We headed to the back deck where Lisa J set up a little hor d'oeuvre tray for Emily & Nick to share.
All the food looked so yummy!
These two are just so darn cute together. It was hard to tell that he hadn't actually proposed yet!
Still not the actual proposal! Nick just being silly with the fake ring.
We headed back to the truck so they could enjoy their picnic.
While Nick & Emily went to change clothes, the rest of us were working on bringing Emily's family in so they could be audience to the actual proposal!
These photos were more of a distraction. We were on the back of the property while Emily's family was getting into place near the truck. Once they were hidden, we headed back over to the truck. Nick had the ring hidden in his boot. A few more portraits.......
After helping Emily back into the truck, and her noticing her family standing near by, Nick got down on one knee......
By the way, she said, "YES!"
Now we could enjoy those yummy desserts Lisa J made!
This is the team responsible for putting this all together. We didn't plan for a picture! Left to right: Lisa F, Nick, Emily, Lisa J, Erricka
